The Life
Pusalar, a poor Brahmin devotee of Thiruninravur, yearned to raise a great temple for Shiva but had no means. So he resolved to build one within his heart: gathering materials in his mind, he sanctified the ground, laid every stone, raised the towers, and over long devotion completed a flawless temple, fixing an auspicious day for its consecration. At that very time the Pallava king Kadavarkon had finished a magnificent Shiva temple at Kanchipuram and chose the same day to consecrate it. But Shiva appeared in the king's dream, saying He must attend the consecration of His devotee Pusalar's temple at Thiruninravur that day, and bade the king postpone his own. Astonished, the king sought out Pusalar and honoured him. Pusalar attained Shiva's grace. His guru puja is in Aippasi under Anusham.
